THE ART OF LISTENING Led by Legh Burns, Director of the Saratoga Chamber Orchestra. Perplexed
by polyphony? Confused by cadenzas? Have you ever wondered about the inner-workings of music? style? harmony? rhythm? Would
you like a user-friendly environment to explore and enhance your appreciation of music? Back by popular demand, a series of
informal gatherings led by conductor Legh W. Burns, held over six weeks as he will help us navigate through the components
that make up THE ART OF LISTENING. WHEN: January 9, 16, 23, 30 and February 6 & 13.
TIME: 2:00-3:00pm WHERE: Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island 20103 State Route 525, 2 miles N. of Freeland WA. COST: Either $95 per person or $175 for two. Each attendee will receive a complimentary ticket to a future

A
Mid-Winter Classical Concert featuring The Seattle Freelance Soloists, Enjoy
an afternoon of classical music presented by members of the Seattle Freelance Musicians. Teo Benson is a Whidbey Island native
who began studying violin at the age of five. He has studiedwith several well-known violinists on the island, including Linda
Good of Island Strings, the late Michael Nutt of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and founder of the Saratoga Chamber Players,
Jackie Evans of the London Conservatory, Talia Marcus of Click Music, and Roxallanne Medley of the Portland Symphony. He has
won scholarships and concerto competitions in both Colorado and Washington State and holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Washington. He is currently a member of the Tacoma Symphony and teaches violin in Seattle. Dylan Rieck,
also a Washington native, holds music degrees from the University of Washington where he was a concerto competition winner
and Principal Cellist and from the University of Texas where he was awarded "Outstanding Masters Recital." An active
performer, Miodrag appears regularly in solo, chamber, as well as orchestral concerts in the Seattle area as well as abroad.
Formerly, concertmaster of the University of Washington Symphony Orchestra, he is currently a member of the Federal Way Symphony.
